Final reflection.

So i've been trying to avoid writing this final blogspot because that would mean that Get Fit was finally over, and that's making me sad as heck :(

This years Get Fit when by really fast, and in that whole time I feel like I have improved in my fitness by taking the initiative to do things on my own. I find this class easy to participate in since we're all girls and we're all fun people, i would say. So, i found it easy to just get along with all these people. I'm glad that i'm able to call these people my friends and such. I LOVE THEM ALLLLLLLL!!!! because of that i've always been eager to come to this class, like I said Get Fit is my favourite class.

One of my goals in the beginning of this semester was to be able to run long distances without having to stop every like few seconds, and I think I'm getting better at that. Only if I kept the pace constant, I could deffs do it.

Get fit has taught me to be myself and it has also taught me that I can do anything as long as i put my mind to it. Things like this are what has made me feel comfortable with myself in this class. And i'm going to miss having that feeling once high school is over.

I really hope that I can continue to live this Get Fit lifestyle even after high school. I'd really like to continue at working out without having the need of getting motivation from others, but from myself. I can do this with the nike apps that y'all have showed us this year. MAN, I LOVE THAT APP. It's a really good app!!!

And maybe next year, if I'm not busy and all, it would be fun to pass by and see how Get fit is doing.  BECAUSE I LOVE GET FIT. OKAY. I LOVE GET FIT.

My final goal for this year is to take more initiative in my fitness and to improve in it.
I basically, wrote everything I needed to in my previous posts but that was it..........
i'm done :(

A grade that I want in this class is um 96-97%? LOL HEH

Ps. Mrs. Phillips, I'm going to miss having you as my PE teacher. I've had the best two years being in your class and am so gladdd that I switched into Get Fit last year. I cannot thank you enough for being the best teacher for me, making me feel comfortable in class and like screaming LAPLAP every time you see me. I'm going to miss that!

Reflection on Miss Representation documentary

The documentary taught me that we shouldn't accept what the media thinks is okay to say about  what is to be a real woman they shouldn't condemn us to feel like we're not skinny enough, we're not pretty enough, we're not curvy enough, we're not WHATEVER enough  When in reality, WE ARE ENOUGH. It is what the medias on tvs, magazines, movies, ads, etc that causes women to feel this way. The media portrays women as sexual objects and this has set a standard for women and what they should look like otherwise they aren't accepted. They are seen as women who need to look a certain way so that they can please the eyes of others. Which shouldn't be the way we center our lives. 

One of the things right now that has caused me to just want to rant about the issue about self worth is from the current news going around about the CEO of abercrombie and fitch who "doesn’t want larger people shopping in his store, becayse he wants thin and beautiful people,” ... “He doesn’t want his core customers to see people who aren’t as hot as them wearing his clothing. People who wear his clothing should feel like they’re one of the ‘cool kids.’” 

What pisses me off so much about this is that in reality, no one will ever live up to this image that they have set. They're basically saying that all women have to be a certain shape in order to look cool or even be able to go into a store without having to feel like their being judged. Everything the media portrays about what real women are, are really what women really aren't. I think the only way we can resolve this issue about not letting the media force feed us with all these lies is by learning to feel more confident with ourselves, because in reality our body shapes are all different, we are all born different. Some people are just more capable of losing or gaining weight than others, the way we dress or the way we put on make up or choose to do our hair shouldn't base how cool or uncool we are. BECAUSE yOU ARRE ALL COOL. SERIOUSLY!! I REALLY WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE COOL, YOU ARE LOVED! AND YOU ARE ENOUGH!   and I think we should all  just learn to accept each others differences than to bring down another person just because we don't look the same as each other. DONT SPREAD THE HATE, SPREAD NUTELLA AND LOVE. 


ps. sorry if this is a little out of order. it's nearly my bed time and I sat here trying to make this as serious as possible... and then I had nutella. 




GET FIT - SO FAR, SO GOOD.

Get fit 2013 is coming to a closing pretty soon, and I really wish it didn't have to end. Still one of the best classes I have this whole year, and it's a grade 10 class. Let's be real, everyone in our class is pretty cool, the people in the class are cool too. I'm so glad I chose not to stick to one group this whole semester but to branch out and make friends even with the younger grades. I know, ew. LOL JUST KIDDING. HEHEH

Anyways, the field trips.
Let's begin with that.. because who wants to talk about the beep test right now? NOT ME.

ZUMBA - I am clearly not born to be a dance instructor in any way. I will always dislike being in a zumba class. But nonetheless, it was still a fun class to be in because everyone was just awkward like me heh. DOUBLE DOUBLE SINGLE SINGLE 

HOT YOGA - I cannot express how grateful I am that we got to fit this into our field trip schedule! Yoga in general is okay, but then when you add it with the heat, it's a whole different story. Finding weird spots of your body sweating LOL still pretty funny. I loved the energy of the whole class that day, even Mr. Neuf's, we all knew that there were some yoga poses we couldn't do but we still did them anyways, we tried new things as a whole class. AND that's what's important, we got to do it all together.

AQUA FIT - I feel like we didn't get enough time in the pool, we did have a lot of fun though. Trying to keep our necks above the water was just my only concern, and doing the double speed on the arm exercises... um no, that was not fun. But after the whole aqua fit we got to go in the jacuzi and come on, that felt so good. and then everyone had to go back to school. I miss having double blocks.. cause then we would've had a longer time swimming and hot tubbing.




FENCING - I actually felt like I was a real fencer on the third day. Since we all know the prior 2 days of learning about the history of fencing was really what helped. LOL. But hey, this class actually made me want to take fencing as a hobby or something, the adrenalin rush. SERIOUSLY. 




k, so then now i shall talk about the beep test.
I think i've done alot better. I wish I had written all my results down from the beginning. I remember last year the highest I could go was at least a 9.5 or something and this year I pushed my self to more than a 10... but the last beep test all I got was a 10.0, it was just faster than the usual one that we did. And i didn't get to do the re-do for that. but that's okay.... I do see that i've been improving... which is the one of my goals this year in get fit.

I can't believe I even did it. But hey, I did.

Late midterm reflection.

This post is a little bit too late but I've been really busy this past week anSorry ms Phillips!

But to get right to the point. I think that get fit is one of the best classes any (girl) student could join in.

Participate: one of my best days have to be the pond run because one of the things that helps me to cool down and take a time to myself is when I'm running/jogging. It is one of my most favourite things to do. One of the hardest days was when we did the intense yoga in the gym with the rest of the classes. I wasn't very much motivated to do any working out that day but did as much as I could anyways. The only thing that stands in my way is myself. If other people are able to do it, I should too. What motivates me to participate in everything usually is the outcome at the end of it all.

Field trip: I don't personally have a favourite field trip but the most recent one(panorama dance) that we had was quite fun. Especially the fitness part of it. it definitely tested my fitness level and what I can do. The dancing that we learnt was a whole other story. My hips were definitely lying that day. It was uncomfortable at first but then I was reminded to dance as if no one were watching and I did just that by making a good out of myself. Still a good day in the end.

Fitness: Fitness wise I think I have improved. Especially in terms of running/jogging. I've been able to go long distances without dying. But still having to stop a few times, I'm going to get to my goal soon. Right now I would like to improve on pushing myself to not only work out in school but to continue it at home.

Grade: I guess an overall grade that I would suggest for myself is an A+. I don't m ow I forget how we did our letter grades, but that's pretty much how high I would put it.

Interim Report.

Hi, my name is Hannah Laplap. I'm turning 17 in a few days. I'm in grade 12 and i'm lovin' it.



I'm an out-going person and I love to make new friends, I think i'm a nice person, but some people would say otherwise. Don't believe them, seriously. DONT BELIEVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!! In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends or go on a jog. Other than that I like to stay in my room and live the internet life or play depressing songs on my guitar. My favourite classes this semester is definitely Get Fit and Chemistry, last semester it was English and Physics. Cool. Living actively fits perfectly in my life, idk I walk home sometimes from school, I go on jogs whenever the weather feels good. I try working out a lot more than often by myself. It just fits into my schedule, since my schedule basically empty half the time.

Physically
Short term goal - to be able to run long distances without having to stop and breathe every few minutes.
Long term goal - to continue living the healthy lifestyle EVERY DAY.

Education wise
Short term goal - graduate with super good grades
Long term goal - register into the sports science course in blablabla school.

Healthy living means to stay physically active, maintaining a healthy weight fit for their age and height and making healthy food choices. My level of activity on a daily basis, on a scale of 10 would be at an 7.5 and on a good day probably 9. I especially love walking and going out for jogs which is one of the things that helps me stay physically active and also because of Get fit I get to do that and have fun at the same time too.

Being in get fit class has made me feel more confident about myself, I don't feel the need to be insecure or feel like i'm being judged by others because I know that in this class we are all safe and all of us would support one another throughout this whole semester. In order to create a positive environment, I could help  by getting everyone to participate and MAKE SURE they're enjoying it, not leaving a single person out. That way everyone and myself would be able to feel safe and supported in get fit. 


First two field trips.

So we went to this taekwando place near the school and at first I wasn't too keen about it because we weren't allowed to wear socks and I hate feet and I was in a room full of feet. Nasty. Hate hate hate feet but oh well, overall it was a fun field trip and I'm looking forward to the next one we're going to.


The second field trip we went to was ice skating. I really liked it because we were in a really open space unlike the ones that are usually open to public filled with people falling down or people who think they're so cool skating and being all whatever whatever. It was a great field trip and I can't wait to go to the rest of the other field tips with the get fit girls!







Weight room fun.

We were only in the weight room for 2 days :( I wish we were in there for longer because it was so much fun. I mean look at that expression of me doing those back arm things with the dumbbell. Compared to my fitness from last year, I can actually say that i have kind of improved a lot more and tried different ways in working on each part of my muscle. Get fit is fun. Love it! Ms. Phillips is so cool!
